Practice Nurses can offer a wide range of services including:

• general advice on a wide range of health matters (many initial enquiries can best be answered by seeing a nurse rather than a doctor)
• health promotion advice, especially the assessment and management of risk factors for heart disease and stroke
• dressings, treatment of minor wounds, removal of stitches
• foreign travel advice and immunisation
• tetanus immunisation
• menopause clinic: advice on the menopause, osteoporosis and hormone replacement therapy.
